In a truly unique location amid the spectacular scenery of the Island of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides, Beach Bay Self Catering Cottage is nestled on the edge of the unspoiled white sands of Uig Bay, a National Scenic Area. This is one of the most beautiful beaches on Scotland’s Atlantic Coast.
The cottage is a stunning natural stone and turf roofed, single-storey detached cottage, built into the hillside reflecting an ancient Neolithic design. The cottage boasts truly breathtaking beach views through its 180-degree bay window, which sits just 20 yards from the edge of the family-friendly beach. You can directly access the beach less than 110 yards from the door. Sit and watch the tide come in and out revealing the stunning white sands. The Red River or Abhainn Dearg in Gaelic runs into the bay and has runs of both Salmon and Sea Trout which if you’re lucky, you can see leaping in the bay.
In a very secluded and magical location, the surrounding area of the cottage is a paradise for families, artists, walkers, fishing enthusiasts, photographers, and bird-watchers. It’s not unusual to see golden and sea eagles soaring over the cottage, sea otters swimming around the coast or a stag wandering the moorland.
